    A note about ongoing fees:

I do not charge ongoing fees for the websites I build. Once it’s built, it’s yours! However, just as living in a house requires you to pay the electric bill in order to keep the lights on, owning a website requires you to pay two ongoing charges as standard:

Web hosting: Think of this as your rent for living in a virtual property. Web hosts charge different amounts based on the level of services, but for a basic website, expect to pay between £2 and £8 per month.

Domain registration: In order to maintain yourdomain.com, you need to pay the domain registrar an annual fee, usually about £15–20 per year.

I request that my clients pay these two charges, web hosting and domain registration, direct to the companies that provide these services. This is so that you remain in complete control of your website. (By contrast, some less-than-ethical web designers will act as an intermediary and charge you the web hosting/domain costs plus their own fee.)
